Chroma, the leading employer of creative arts therapies in the UK, is proud to announce the launch of its highly anticipated vocational graduate scheme for creative arts students who will be qualifying in 2023. The graduate scheme is designed to offer new graduates an opportunity to gain practical experience while receiving relevant training that is directly linked to their casework. The scheme will run for six months, starting in October 2023, and applications will open in February 2023.
The program is unique in that it is vocationally-based and provides participants with actual work opportunities. The scheme will draw upon the CPD-accredited training that Chroma currently offers its therapists, curated and delivered by Rachel Swanick, Senior Clinical Therapist & Training Lead at Chroma.
Managing Director, Daniel Thomas, expressed his excitement about the scheme, saying: “We are offering a paid graduate scheme that is aimed at students of all creative arts therapy training courses who are about to qualify. We will select six graduates to take on in the first year and, depending on the success of the scheme, we will increase the numbers for 2024-25.”
Rachel Swanick also explained that the term “vocational” is significant in that the scheme is developed as a reaction to a clinical need. The content is not based upon what “we” think is needed but rather on what therapists require in their work.
The graduate scheme is designed to be a rolling eight-week curriculum. The first section of the program will focus on attachment, adoption, and adoption support fund (ASF) work, followed by medico-legal work and rehabilitation. Throughout the curriculum, post-graduates will deal with risk assessments and initial assessments, as well as learn how to contact families, work with them, and create reports.
Chroma’s graduate scheme is a fantastic opportunity for newly qualified music therapists to develop their capacity in specific areas. The program will offer excellent models, support, and exceptional training, which will ensure Chroma continues to provide the highest quality therapy on the greatest scale.
We invite you to apply for this unique opportunity to gain practical experience while receiving exceptional training with the leading employer of creative arts therapies in the UK.
