Our Story

Chroma is about collaboration. Working in partnership with our clients, colleagues, commissioners and communities, we have a track record of delivering outstanding outcomes and services. We enable people to realise their potential through creativity, by providing the highest quality therapy at the greatest scale. Our mission is very simple.

Chroma was formed in 2013 by an experienced group of therapists, supported by an ethical and proactive management team, who wanted to change the way creative arts therapies were delivered and their outcomes measured. Our therapists understand the importance of evidencing therapeutic goals, with the voice of our clients as a primary element in this. Client feedback is balanced by a range of assessment and outcomes tools, giving us a 360-degree view of how things are going in therapy.

In 2017 we won an Advancing Healthcare Award for the way in which our collaborative approach expanded access to therapy services across a range of client groups. These included adoptive families, schools, brain injury survivors and the NHS. In 2018 and 2020 we were runners up in the CMSUK Rehabilitation Innovation of the Year awards and the Tomorrow’s Care awards respectively.

Chroma is the UK’s only national provider of the creative arts therapies. Our 100+ therapists hold Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration, and sit within the Allied Health Professional (AHP) legal and regulatory framework.

As an organisation, we are registered with Ofsted, and in January 2022, Chroma achieved an “Outstanding” Ofsted [DT1] inspection on its therapy services for adoptive families and their children.
